Army launches toll-free line to strengthen security in Kaduna, 3 other states

The 1 Division of the Nigerian Army has introduced a toll-free line, 0800 002 0204, aimed at enabling residents to report security-related issues with ease.

The initiative, which covers Kaduna, Niger, Kano, and Jigawa states, is part of ongoing efforts by the army to tackle the prevailing security challenges within these areas.

In a press statement Wednesday by Deputy Director, Army Public Relations for 1 Division, Lt. Col. Musa Yahaya, the Army stated that the toll-free line is intended to facilitate prompt responses to emergency cases and complaints from the public.

The line will also serve as a critical channel for citizens to provide timely information on the activities of terrorists, insurgents, violent extremists, and bandits, as well as their collaborators.
Yahaha said, “the introduction of this toll-free line is crucial in our collective effort to enhance security across our area of responsibility,” the statement reads.

“We encourage the public to take advantage of this service to report any suspicious activities that could threaten peace and stability in the region,” he added.

The army spokesman reassured that all calls and messages received via the toll-free line would be handled with the utmost confidentiality, and the sources of such information would be adequately protected.
