Army in tandem with FG financial reforms – Buratai

Chief of Army Staff , Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, has said that the Nigerian Army had keyed into all federal government fi nancial reforms in line with government directives.
The army chief said this at the weekend in Lagos while inaugurating Headquarters of the Nigerian Army Finance Corps.
He said the creation of a backup data base in the headquarters of the Corps from the army pay record was also in tandem with the federal government directives, such as the Treasury Single Account (TSA), Government Integrated Financial Information System and Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System.
He said: “The Data Recovery Centre is therefore very crucial at this point.
Generally, the Nigerian Army Finance Corps has been up and doing in terms of administration of troops pay and allowances, especially in support of our troops in North east.
“In recent times, Nigerian Army hasbeen faced with several challenges… All this menace has stretched our human and material resources.
I am happy to state that the Nigerian Army Finance Corps has been able to manage our scarce resources well and out troops in various theaters have been getting their allowances promptly.
“ Earlier in his remarks, Acting Chief of Accounts and Budget, Brig.
Gen. Jahadi Jakko said the technology, which he said has withstood the test of time, would ensure adequate capture of data of new personnel.
He said the corps personnel have always been provided with adequate tools to aid their works, as well as physically and mental fi t to discharge their responsibilities.
