Th e conference which is attended by Principal Staff Offi cers from the Army Headquarters, Corps, formations and operations commanders, commandants of the Nigerian Army training and Corps schools, and selected participants from Defence Headquarters and Defence institutions, is a forum to appraise training and operational activities of the Nigerian Army during the second and third quarters of 2017.

It would be recalled that the COAS fi rst quarter conference was held on April 4, 2017, at the Command Guest House, Maiduguri, where the Chief of Army Staff announced the conversion of the Nigerian Army Institute of Environmental Technology, Biu, Borno state to a Nigerian Army University of Technology., and its take-off in September 2017.

Analysts anticipate that the Army chief will also make some important announcements and disclosures about upcoming exercises and operations, as well as consolidations on the existing ones, at the second and third quarters conference.
