Arewa youth commend FERMA on road repairs ahead of rainy season

The Arewa Youths Merger Group has expressed gratitude to the Managing Director of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Chukwuemeka Agbasi, for the agency’s proactive measures in addressing the deteriorating conditions of federal roads across the country.

The group particularly hailed the agency for the works in the northern region, as the rainy season approaches.

In a statement released to the press in Kaduna, the group’s leader, Mujahid Zaitawa, lauded the planned intervention by FERMA to fill potholes and repair failed portions of roads, emphasising the positive impact the efforts will have on the safety and efficiency of transportation for millions of Nigerians.

“The maintenance and rehabilitation of our road networks are critical, especially now as we enter the rainy season.

 “The commitment shown by FERMA’s Managing Director, Chukwuemeka Agbasi, is commendable and will go a long way in mitigating the adverse effects of the rainy season on our roads.”

The Arewa Youth Mager group highlighted several key projects underway in the northern region, which include: rehabilitation of Wudil-Kwanar Huguma road in Kano, dualisation of Kano-Katsina road phase I, Dawanau roundabout to Katsina border in Kano state.

Others include rehabilitation of Funtua-Dayi-Yashe-Kano border road in Katsina, Zaria-Gusau-Sokoto-Birnin Kebbi road in Katsina, construction of Kankara-Gurbi road in Katsina, rehabilitation of Sokoto-Tambuwal-Jega-Kontagora-Makera road in Sokoto/Kebbi/Niger states, replacement of substandard bridges along Gusau-Sokoto road in Zamfara state, among others.
