The Arewa Youths Consultative Forum (AYCF) has praised President Bola Tinubu for appointing Adeola Ajayi as the new Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), highlighting his instrumental role in neutralizing the Ansaru terrorist group in Kogi State.
In a statement by the group’s President General, Yerima Shettima, the AYCF underscored Ajayi’s impressive track record in improving security in various states, including Kogi, Kano, Bauchi, Gombe, Kaduna, and Plateau.
Shettima specifically pointed to Ajayi’s swift intervention in Kogi, where his efforts led to the dismantling of Ansaru, marking a major success in the fight against insurgency.
The AYCF described Ajayi’s appointment as “timely, given the ongoing challenges of terrorism, banditry, and communal unrest in the country.”
The forum also called for public support and patience as he takes on his new role.
The forum however expressed optimism that Ajayi’s leadership would prioritise intelligence-driven operations and collaborative engagement with communities, particularly in the North, which has been severely impacted by insecurity.
