APC mega rally in Ekiti height of insensitivity – Fayose

Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti state Mr Ayo Fayose, has fingered the All Progressives Congress (APC) as being responsible for the increased terrorism activities of the Boko Haram.
Fayose described the mega rally held by the All Progressives Congress (APC) attended by the party’s national leaders and governors yesterday as “the height of insensitivity in the face of the Jos twin bomb blasts which claimed no fewer than 120 lives.”
He said the activities of the insurgents in recent times were aimed at distracting President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP from Ekiti and Osun states governorship elections.

The PDP flag-bearer, who made the statement yesterday in Ado-Ekiti at a press conference, said: “Each time the President wants to do something that would affect the lives of the people of this country positively, there is bombing; this distraction is coming from the people who believe that Jonathan should not contest in 2015.”
Announcing the suspension of the party’s mega rally and presentation by President Goodluck Jonathan of PDP flag-bearer earlier billed for Kayode Oluyemi Stadium today (Thursday), Fayose said: ““We expect the APC leadership and the ruling party in the state to be patriotic enough and to cancel the rally in honour of the rally of the bomb blast.”

However, the spokesperson of Kayode Fayemi Campaign Organisation, Dimeji Daniels, described the PDP’s reason for the last-minute cancellation of its rally as “comical and a reflection of the fact that the PDP is indeed suffering from General Anxiety Disorder Syndrome (GADs).”
Daniels added that the PDP rally was cancelled for fear of failure as the party had self-destruct from the inside.
He said the PDP rally was cancelled as President Jonathan had well cancelled his earlier planned attendance in view of the internal bickering associated with “the strange and undemocratic manner of its controversial flag-bearer, Ayodele Fayose.”
