APC ‘ll resolve leadership crisis, exist beyond Buhari- Govs

The serving governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have expressed confidence that the party will continue to resolve the leadership crisis rocking the party and even exist beyond administration of President Muhammadu Bubari.


The Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) also revealed that President Bubari has given them his commitment towards the survival of APC beyond his tenure in office.


Speaking with newsmen in Abuja at the weekend, Jigawa state governor and the co-chairman of the PGF Governance Programme Steering Committee, Abubakar Badaru, said the governors forum and the leadership of APC were working hard to resolve various crisis rocking the party.


Responding to the outburst by the Ekiti state governor, Kayode Fayemi, that APC may not survive beyond Buhari’s tenure, the Jigawa state governor, when asked said: “On the survival of APC after President Buhari, the president made a commitment to the Governors that he will support us in anyway to make sure that the party survives and waxes stronger even after him.”


When pressed further to speak on the leadership crisis rocking the ruling party, Badaru said: “What I will have to say on the party is that the leadership of APC, Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) are working day and night to ensure that the issue is resolved and I assure you that Mr. President is also looking at the issue to make sure that the leadership crisis is resolved and it will be resolved in no time. We are working on it and God’s willing it will be over soon.”


Some prominent members of the APC had openly called for the removal of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as the party’s national chairman.


On his own, the Plateau state governor, Simon Lalong said his committee has responsibility to design policies for implementation for good governance in APC states and once the policies are approved the governors will start talking about the implementation.


Some of the policies include; security, primary healthcare, education among others.
