A former governorship candidate of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in Lagos state, Ambassador Nurain Mumuni, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari over his decision to carry out comprehensive investigation into the role played by several former and serving top military officers in the questionable expenditure of funds meant for procurement of arms to fight Boko Haram.

Speaking during an interview in Abuja, Mumuni said Buhari’s efforts at recovering stolen funds from former government officials was a demonstration of his high sense of accountability and patriotism.
He said: “President Buhari has again proved his sterling virtue as a incorruptible leader by his decision to investigate allegations of financial misconducts leveled up against several retired and serving top military officers.
“This bold and courageous step has again vindicated Buhari as a leader who wishes the best for Nigeria at all times. For Buhari to have extended his probe to the military, which serves as his primary constituency, shows his sense of patriotism and unquantifiable commitment to liberate Nigeria from corruption and misrule.

“We should all realise that Buhari’s war against corruption is not just a moral battle for virtue and righteousness in our land, it is also a fight aimed at reclaiming the soul and substance of Nigeria.”
The APC chieftain urged President Buhari not to stop at retrieving all the stolen public funds, but to ensure that all the perpetrators of such fraudulent acts were compelled to face the full wrath of the law.
The APC chieftain urged the President to ensure that anyone found culpable in stealing public funds should be made to face full wrath of law, in addition to refunding the money.
