Angry Owerri youth threaten to raze pharmacy

The youth of Mgbisii autonomous community in Ohaji Egbema LGA of Imo state, Wednesday stormed Swiftel Pharmacy at World Bank Housing Estate in Owerri with the intention of razing the building down.

The pharmacy was kept under lock and key some weeks ago by the state government, following the death of a politician who was allegedly murdered by the owner of the said pharmacy and his boys during a scuffle for allegedly packing his vehicle in front of the pharmacy to prevent customers from accessing it.

Blueprint correspondent,  who visited the area on hearing  that the youth were about to raze it down  gathered that the presence of the angry youth was because they got the information that this week, the pharmacy shop had been opened and attending to customers with the owner still in police custody and their deceased brother yet to be buried.

As at the time of filing this report, pebbles were being pelted at the building, leaving one side with glasses  shattered, irrespective  of the presence of about ten armed policemen who tried to plead with them not to take laws into their  hands since the shop was not opened for business today.
