Anambra: SWAN to honour Rojenny, NEROS, other sports investors


Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Anambra State chapter has announced its plan to honour two foremost Sports facility Investors in the state, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka of Rojenny Stadium, and Poly Emenike, MD/CEO of NEROS pharmaceutical and owner of NEROS stadium, Nanka.


The two individuals and clubs would be honoured by SWAN for their contributions to development of sports in the state and the country in generally.
According to the Chairman, Mr Philip Balepo, SWAN Week planning committee, the event would be climax of 2019 SWAN Week in Anambra which would run between November 28 and 30.
Balepo, said the programme would feature road show in partnership with the Federal Road Safety Corps and select games on Thursday; tour of facilities on Friday and Lecture/ Gala Night on Saturday.


He said SWAN will continue to promote excellence and engage stakeholders constructively to get the best in the Anambra sports sector.
The chairman said others who would receive recognition include Emeka Egbogota, a Japanese based sports promoter, FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Nnewi, Aspire FC Adazi, Udala FC Uke and Dosad Academy, Enugu-Ukwu.


Also speaking, chairman of SWAN in Anambra, Anthony Oji, said the SWAN Week would also provide opportunity for stakeholders to review the state of sports in the state and chat away forward the state that is blessed with some of the finest athletes.
