The election was supposed to hold last year during the association’s 36th annual convention in Enugu, but was cancelled due to lack of agreement on voting patern.

Following the cancellation, the National Advisory Council set up an electoral committee headed by Agada to work out a modality for the election.

Other members of the committee are: Odia Ofeimun, Prof. Olu Obafemi, Prof. Mary Nwoye, Remi Raji, Wale Okediran and Prof. Akachi Ezeigbo.

On the day of the election, the committee has ruled that only qualified delegates will be allowed into the venue, relying on the list of delegates  pre-forwarded by chairmen of state chapters.
