Rivers state Governor, Chibuike Amaechi, has condoled with the Senate over the death of one of its members, Sen. Dahiru Awaisu Kuta, who represented Niger East senatorial district.
Amaechi also sympathised with the government and people of Niger state and the family of the deceased over the loss.
A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. David Iyofor, said Sen. Kuta would be remembered for his contributions to the country’s legislature.
“Sen. Kuta will always be remembered for his selfless service to his district, state and the nation as a member of the senate and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Federal Character and Intergovernmental Affairs,” the statement said.
Amaechi urged members of the Senate, the people of Niger state and the family of the late Sen. Kuta to find strength in God as they mourned.
He prayed that the soul of the departed rest in peace.
