The leadership of the newly registered All Grassroots Alliance (AGA) has lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for confirming the party’s registration alongside other 21 political parties.
Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Dr Olukayode Oshiariyo, the national chairman of the party, said in a statement issued in Abuja that the party’s leadership has also dedicated the confirmation to God and the grassroots people of the country.
“AGA is the light at the end of tunnels for the people of Nigeria, symbol of peace, progress and prosperity. We are embarking on aggressive grassroots voter education to open peoples’ eyes and awake their consciousness to a credible alternative party (AGA),’’ he said.
Further, he said the party would soon unveil the agenda for Nigeria in January and if it wins the 2019 election, it would introduce modified presidential system with single assembly.
The AGA chairman explained that the system would reduce the cost of governance and thus ensure the payment of salary and pension of workers promptly.
He promised that the party would redesign war against corruption that would involve building strong institutions as well as sustainable public and private-driven economy.
It would be recalled that last week, the INEC registered 21 new political parties of bringing the total numbers to 67 registered parties in the country.
