Al-Makura inaugurates judicial service commission, perm sec

 Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa state has inaugurated members of the state Judicial Service Commission and a permanent secretary.

 

Inaugurating them yesterday at the Government House, Lafia, the governor charged public servants in the state to continue to exhibit high level of professionalism in the discharge of their official responsibilities.

 

He said the Committee members were carefully selected to man the affairs of the government and assured the people of the state that his administration was determined to reposition the public institutions in line with the law establishing them.

 

Also, in the appointment of a Permanent Secretary, Mohammed Sain Bala, a Director in the Ministry for local government and chieftaincy Affairs, Al-Makura said that the appointee had been loyal and dedicated to his duties.

 

He said since his assumption of office he had never appointed any permanent secretary outside civil service, adding that “the best criteria not for appointment of a permanent secretary are for career civil servants.”

 

“I wish to crave the indulgence of our stakeholders who brings the CV of their children or brothers to be appointed as permanent secretary to know that permanent secretary’s appointment is an exclusive right of civil servants,” he said.

 

In his vote thanks, the chairman of the Committee, Barrister Mohammed Yaro Zakari, assured the governor that they would do everything possible to justify the confidence reposed on them.
