Akwa Ibom: PDP stalwart lauds Eno

As Akwa Ibom people celebrate 36th anniversary of the creation of the state, a stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ikono-Ini, Hon. Okuma Sunday Iyire, has commended Governor Umoh Bassey Eno’s determination in leaving no stone unturned in putting smiles on the faces of his people.

Hon. Iyire said a few days ago, the governor marked his 100 days in office with the commissioning of landmark projects to the amazement of the people.

“There isn’t much that any government can achieve within 100 days but a lot can be done to indicate the direction and the can-do spirit of an administration within that symbolic time frame”, he said.

Hon. Okuma Iyire, who was a frontline House of Representatives aspirant in Ikono-Ini federal constituency, said there was no denying the fact that the Eno administration is working at a frenetic pace to translate in practical terms some of the key elements of his ARISE agenda.

According to Hon. Iyire, “As we celebrate our 36th anniversary, the governor has hit the ground running and is ever ready to guide and translate his vision into practical, measurable and impactful forms. In view of this, this anniversary should be our rallying point as the governor needs the support of everyone across political divide to succeed”.

He said the celebration of 36th anniversary is today witnessing the establishment of Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) agency with the sole responsibility to drive our rural development, improve the quality of life of our rural dwellers, stimulate economic activities and stem rural-to urban migration.

Against this background, he said no sooner than he assumed office than he awarded 11-kilometer rural road network that traversed across two local governments to boost rural economy and entrepreneurship.

The people, he said, appreciated the governor’s decision to target the streets and environs which were major driver of entrepreneurship and SMEs in Uyo. He appealed to various political parties in the state to sheath their sword of undue militancy and support the governor to actualize his vision to develop the state.

The construction of Ndiya Street and the rehabilitation of Akpan Andem, the PDP stalwart said, was in fulfillment of the governor’s promise to prioritise entrepreneurial development in the state.
