Akpabio’s leadership of NASS ‘ll foster peace, unity – Ndem

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Akwa Ibom state, Dr. Ndem Udoudo Ndem, has hailed the emergence of Dr. Godswill Akpabio as the President of Nigeria’s Senate and Chairman of the 10th National Assembly, adding that he would foster peace and unity in the country.

Dr. Ndem, a member of the medical team of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Committee, told journalists in Abuja that Senator Akpabio’s leadership of the National Assembly “will favour Nigerians.”

He noted that with Akpabio as the leader of the National Assembly, Nigeria would “witness a new vista of hope as the National Assembly would have a very robust engagement and will carry out legislative business in the interest of Nigerians and Nigeria.”

He stressed that with Akpabio as Senate President, the upper chamber of the country’s legislative arm was bound to experience peace and unity as the new Senate President is a bridge builder and a man of vast experience having served as a two-term governor and a minority leader in the 8th Senate.

“As a lawyer, two-term governor and as a minority leader in the 8th Senate, it is my firm belief that he will surely hold the Senate together in unity and function effectively for the benefit of Nigerians”, he said.

Commending the senators for electing Akpabio, Dr, Ndem also expressed confidence that the Senate under him would build cooperation with the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led executive to ensure that the renewed hope agenda of the present administration is achieved for the good of all Nigerians.

He called on the those who contested for the position against him to close ranks with Senator Godswill Akpabio.

He affirmed, “Nigeria as a country and its citizens at this critical time of its national life is in need of tried, tested, and proven leaders with experience who would man critical sectors at all levels of government.”

Dr. Ndem, a certified Podiatric surgeon, noted that Akpabio’s experience as a two-term governor and a senator as well as a Minister was unparalleled.
