Akpabio, Soludo, Uba Sani, others get persons of the year award 

 

The publishers of Nigeria Today magazine, a publication which X-rays Nigeria’s developmental strides, have said it would this Wednesday confer Man of the Year Award on Nigeria’s President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.

The owners of the publication also stated that the governors of Anambra and Kaduna states, Prof Charles Soludo and Ubah Sani, respectively, would be conferred with the Governors of the Year award.

The Editor-in-Chief and former Abia State Commissioner for Information, Barrister Eze Chikamnayo, who spoke in a press conference, on Sunday, stated that wives of the governors of Imo, Taraba and Kwara states would be decorated as First Ladies of the Year.

The former Abia Commissioner also said the former Edo state governor and Senator representing Edo North, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, would deliver the annual lecture themed: “The Imperatives of Strategic Economic Reforms in Nigeria’s Quest for Sustenable Development”.

He noted that Nigeria’s Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, would be the Chief Guest of Honour, the Speaker House of Reps, Hon Tajudeen Abbas, would be the Special Guest, while former Senate  President Anyim Pius Anyim would function as chairman of the occasion.

Chikamnayo said, “prominent legislators who have distinguished themselves in the year in focus alongside captains of industries, businessmen, entrepreneurs and other politicians will also be honoured at the event”.

“The outstanding performance award 2024 celebrates excellence, courage, expertise, integrity, phenomenal achievements, remarkable contributions to national development, good governance, African Renaissance and other acts of positive impact to humanity”, the publisher said.
