Lagos: A Lagos-bound Air France aircraft marked F-GZCC made an emergency landing yesterday at the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, due to faulty nose wheels.
The spokesman for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Mr. Fan Ndubuoke, who confirmed the incident in a statement issued in Lagos, said the aircraft had a total of 178 persons made up of 168 passengers and 10 crew members on board.
He said NCAA had requested for the passenger manifest from the airline.
He said: “The Captain has explained to NCAA that the left hand nose tyre pressure indicator was faulty which made him declare emergency but the aircraft landed safely, as the tyre pressure was later discovered to be in good condition. Meanwhile, NCAA has directed the pilot to submit the mandatory occurrence report.”
