Ahmed Musa speaks on ‘coaching after retirement’

Nigerian forward, Ahmed Musa has downplayed pursuing a career in coaching after retiring from professional play.

The former CSKA Moscow star however said he plan to return home, spend more time with his family.

“My manager at CSKA Moscow once asked me about my post-football plans, and I told him I wouldn’t be coaching,” Musa revealed in a YouTube interview with Victor Modo. “I’ve dedicated my entire life to football, sacrificing precious time with my loved ones. After retiring, I plan to return home, focus on my business ventures, and enjoy a well-deserved break from the demands of professional football.”

Musa, a highly decorated footballer with a distinguished career spanning 16 years, has represented Nigeria at every youth level and holds the record for the most national team caps. He was instrumental in Nigeria’s 2013 Africa Cup of Nations triumph and is the country’s all-time leading scorer at the FIFA World Cup.

His club career has seen him grace top-flight leagues across Europe and Asia, with stints at renowned clubs like CSKA Moscow, Leicester City, and Al Nassr.

But currently, he plies his trade in Nigeria, playing for Kano Pillars in the domestic league.
