The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, has inaugurated the six Sub-committees of the Federal Civil Service Strategic Implementation (FCSSIP’25) for adoption and implementation of the new reforms in the Ministry.
The inauguration of the committees is coming after the ministry got approval from the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF).
While inaugurating the sub-committee, the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Ernest Umakhihe, recently at the Minister’s Conference room, said the inauguration was a ministerial call to action, geared towards achieving the Ministry’s mandate and making sure that the Civil Service maintains a progressive standard.
Umakhihe recalled that the Ministry had already had on ground, the Project Management Team (PMT), the Steering Committee and the sub-committees that were being inaugurated, which comprised Capacity building and Talent Management, Performance Management System, IPPIS Human Resource, Innovation, Digital Content Services and Improved value proposition for Civil Servants.
The Permanent Secretary revealed that it was the expectation of the Management that the Sub-committees to pursue the mandate as spelt out in the Terms of Reference of each of the committees with full dedication and commitment.
He therefore charged Sub-committees to come up with ideas, methodology and requirements that would form a blue print for implementation, noting that the meeting should start in earnest and each committee were expected to submit the progress report for consideration, fortnightly.
Earlier, the Director Human Resource Management, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Alade pointed out that “it was a milestone in the implementation and actual domestication of the FCSSIP’25 in the Ministry and by so doing; we are sending clear signals that we are setting the ball rolling in all the six pillars of the FCSSIP”.
She added that it was a clarion call to service and noted that history will not forget all efforts in ensuring that this new pace was set for the purpose of achieving the Ministry’s mandate and making sure that the Civil Service maintains a progressive standard.
In her response, on behalf of the Sub-committee Members, the Director, Animal Husbandry Services, Mrs. Winnie Lai Solarin appreciated the Permanent Secretary for giving them the opportunity to serve in various capacities, pledged to do their utmost best not to let the management down and set good examples for others to emulate.
She therefore requested for adequate funding to enable their ideas, innovations and interventions brought forth to be implemented without hitches.
