African Int’l University Conducts Screening for Foundational Students

African International University, Toru- Orua  Bayelsa State,  has conducted screening  exercise  for about 622 intending students into the  foundation school of the University.

Conducting the  exercise at St Jude’s Secondary School Amarata Yenagoa, the Registrar  Mensa Francis assured the  students of government’s commitment to a  qualitative education.

Benaiah Oye who spoke unbehalf of the Registrar  stated that  upon completion of their studies, successful applicants will be privileged to study in affiliated universities in United Kingdom and United States of America.

On how the participants emerged Oye said some Local Government chairmen bought the forms for their youths adding that they also”. He said.

Oye said “Come,  fill the form, come to the exam hall. If you succeed, you succeed.
This is strictly by merit.  adding that you must minimum of five credits in two sittings for you to be qualified”.

He stated that they have to prepare all their foundation students for jamb for them to have good schools.

“We have to basically bring them up to per so that when they get to  100 level,  they are much more ahead of the 100 level students that came in. That is our goal being educationally disadvantaged that’s why the Governor specifically started the programme”.

He maintained that the opportunity is   open to everybody and   any student that passes the exam will get to 200 level.
