Africa Cup of Nation: Handball vow to do nation proud

Players of the national male Handball team have vowed to make Nigeria proud in the CAHB Africa Cup of Nations  which will hold from to January 16-26, 2020 in Tunisia.

The team led by assistant coach Solomon Yola Martins of Kano Pillars who is in charge till the arrival of team manager Salami Rafiu of Issy Handball club, France, have been in camp since December 1st, 2019 in preparation for the Nations cup and are in high spirit.

Coach Solomon Yola is confident that the team, with the massive support they are getting from the Sam Ocheho led board of Handball Federation of Nigeria, will do well in Tunisia.

“I am very confident that this team will do well in the nations cup.

We have been preparing and I believe with the kind of work we have put into the team, we will surprise the skeptic who feel we won’t do well.

The foreign based players will have it tough when they join the camp from next week as these players here are world class”. He concluded.

Lagos Seasiders player Owolabi Yahya says the spirit in camp is high and warns other countries that Nigeria is coming to make an impart.

When asked the difference between this and the previous national team, Owolabi answered;

“Discipline! This team has a high level of discipline than every other team and with the support of our digital president who is the best sports administrator in Nigeria, we will do well and make Nigeria proud in Tunisia”

The Africa Senior Handball Nations Cup will hold from January 16 in Tunisia and Nigeria will play in group B alongside Angola, Gabon and Libya.
