Residents of Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital on Monday evening trooped out in droves to celebrate the victory of Governor Ayo Fayose at the Court of Appeal, Abuja.

The court had affirmed the ruling of the Election Petition Tribunal, declaring Ayo Fayose as the duly elected Governor of Ekiti state in the June 21, governorship election, in the case instituted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) challenging his victory.
The five-man panel led by Justice Abdu Aboki which had last week Monday reserved judgment in the case, relocated to Abuja to deliver its judgment on Monday, this week.

The governor, who was at the popular Fajuyi Park, Ijigbo Roundabout, Ajilosun area and the Kayode Oluyemi Stadium, was mobbed by enthusiastic supporters, who were singing and thanking God for the victory.
For the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Assembly candidate in the coming polls, Mr. Adeniran Alagbada, the confirmation of the governor’s victory by the courts further proved that truth cannot be suppressed.
“I hope the APC and their leaders would have seen their folly now. The voice of the people is the voice of God and I know that the people’s resolve to support and identify with Governor Ayo Fayose has been strengthened,” he said.
Also, the former State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Pastor Kola Oluwawole, said the APC ought to know that propaganda does not win polls.

“They have lost again. We hope that they would have learnt their lessons. They have now embarked on so-called audio clip fantasy and that one is a total nonsense too,” he said.
For Mrs. Funke Omodara, a teacher, Mrs. Lanre Fajuyi, an activist and Mr. Sola Ojo, a commercial bike operator, the people of the state would want the APC to stop distracting the government.

“They lost the election and lost twice in the court, one hopes they would allow peace to reign and let the governor concentrate on governance,” Mrs. Fajuyi said.
Similarly, Hon. Johnson Babatunde Adekanbi, a school principal and leader of Positive Mind Club (PMC)‎, expressed joy over the victory, saying it further confirmed the mandate freely given to the

Governor Fayose by the Ekiti people and advised the APC to allow the sleeping dog lie.
An overwhelmed Fayose reiterated his commitment to the development of the state and his focus on fulfilling his electioneering promises to the people.
