Vice-chancellor of the Adamawa State University, Prof. Shall David Joshua, has extolled Governor Bala James Nggilari of Adamawa state over his efforts in ensuring that students of the school finished at the same time with their counterparts in other parts of the country, despite the Boko Haram insurgency that led to the closure of the school for many months.

Joshua made the disclosure while unveiling plans for the re-opening of the school to allow final year and spill over students to conclude their studies “so as to graduate together with their counterparts in other institutions that were not affected by the insurgency.”

In order to facilitate the process, he had directed the students to report to three designated areas earmarked for the programme in line with the departments they belonged to.

The locations are American University of Nigeria (AUN), Federal College of Education (FCE), Yola, and Adamawa State Polytechnic, Numan Campus, respectively, and at least 1, 532 students would be involved in the exercise.

Joshua added that the programme would be premised by orientation exercise for students of faculties of science and agriculture at FCE, Yola, noting that with the development, only the students of the institution would graduate out of the many institutions affected by the insurgency.

It would be recalled that the University had earlier undertaken a similar exercise in respect of IJMB involving 127 students which enabled them to secure admission into degree programmes inn Adamawa and elsewhere.
