Adamawa LG election: PDP pegs chairmanship nomination forms at N10m, rolls out timetable 

Ahead of July 13, local government election, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa state, has pegged local government chairmanship nomination forms for 10m and N250,00 for councillorship, among other schedules of activities towards the election.

Addressing journalists at a press conference in Yola Tuesday, Adamawa state PDP chairman, Barrister AT shehu  said the party nomination process would commence with sales of party nomination forms from 7th-12th  July, 2024.

He further noted that submission of completed forms would take place from 13th to 14th July, while, screening of aspirants is to take place from 15th to 16th with party primaries for both councillorship and chairmanship slated for 21st and 22nd, respectively.

Other schedules of activities as rolled out by the chairman included sales of three ad-hoc delegates forms, party congresses to nominates 3 Ad- hoc delegates, display of screened aspirants, hearings of appeals among others.

According to him, the governor and the party had no anointed candidate in the election and would provide  level playing field to all aspirants to test their popularity based on the free will of the electorate.

The chairman further called all interested party member’s who desired to contest to come and purchase the nomination forms, assuring all aspirants of level playing field, free and fair primaries in line with democratic tenets to choose party candidates for the election.

He expressed satisfaction with the level of preparation being put in place by the State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) and expressed optimism in the ability of the commission to conduct a credible exercise that would be acceptable to all the parties participating in the election.
