The Chairman Adamawa state APC Reconciliation Committee, Senator Mohammed Mana, has said the people of Adamawa state and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu were anxiously waiting for the of the party to power in 2027 elections.
Mana stated this at a press conference in Yola, at the weekend while briefing journalists on the outcome of their reconciliation mission to Adamawa state.
He expressed satisfaction with the outcome of their engagements with party stakeholders at all levels, stressing that APC was ready and prepared to take over Adamawa in 2027.
According to Mana, it was for this reason that they decided to start work and prepare ahead of the 2027.
“People are tired because the APC had been out of power in the state since 2019, no state government, no local government, nothing. People are very anxious.
“They reposed a lot of confidence in us and the APC national headquarters and we are more than hopeful, ready and prepared to take over the state in 2027. Even the President is anxious to make sure that Adamawa state goes back to APC In 2027.”
He further explained that Adamawa state was very strategic to the APC because the party controlled the federal government, adding that anybody that wins election at the national level and did not win Adamawa is like he did not win election at all.
According to him, the party’s reconciliation efforts would be top to down, stressing that they had contacted the party gubernatorial candidate in 2023 elections, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani, but unfortunately she was on her way out of the country.
He assured that if she returned, the committee would meet with her, adding that APC reconciliation efforts in Adamawa would not be complete without engaging her and other party stakeholders in her camp.
The chairman further assured party members and stakeholders in the state that the committee would make positive recommendations to the party at national headquarters that would bring the internal crisis in Adamawa APC to an end.
He said they would also make sure that these recommendations were fully implemented in the overall interest of the party ahead of 2027.
Mana noted that the committee would not disappoint the high expectations and confidence reposed in them by both the party national leadership and stakeholders in the state in the discharge of their responsibilities.
