ACF lifts suspension of NEC chairman

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has announced the lifting of the suspension imposed on Chief Mamman Mike Osuman, SAN, the chairman of the National Executive Council (NEC), following a resolution of a recent internal crisis.

A statement by secretary general of the ACF, Mal. Murtala M. Aliyu,  said ACF withdrew the suspension in the best interest of the people of Arewa.

Osuman was suspended earlier by the ACF leadership over an alleged unauthorised political statement that did not align with the forum’s non-partisan stance.

However, following intervention by the ACF Unity, Peace, and Reconciliation Committee, led by Dr. Mahmoud Yayale Ahmed, (CFR), a reconciliation process was initiated.

Aliyu said the committee, which held discussions with various stakeholders, including the chairman of the Board of Trustees and other NEC members, managed to resolve the issue amicably.

“The Unity, Peace, and Reconciliation Committee has intervened in the matter, and after family discussions, the issue has been resolved,” Aliyu said.

The ACF however stated that the resolution underscores its commitment to unity and the well-being of the region, reinforcing its dedication to maintaining a harmonious leadership

structure within the forum.
