Abia APGA ‘ll pray for LP gov to succeed but… – State chair

The state chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Ambassador Sunday Onukwubiri, has said that he would not pray for Dr Alex Otti-led Labour Party’s government in Abia to fail because Abians have suffered untold hardship in the hands of the previous governments.

He also promised that his party would pose strong opposition ahead of 2027 election.

Ambassador Sunday Onukwubiri, stated this shortly after the first joint meeting of the party’s State Executive Council and LGA officers after his emergence as party chairman held at Umuahia.

The chairman noted that APGA would pose the greatest opposition to the ruling Labour Party in the state, noting that his criticisms would not be destructive but constructive one to enable Dr Alex Chioma Otti to do the right thing.

He further stressed that Abians were yearning for good leadership which has eluded the state for the past 24 years under the previous government.

He, therefore, said he was not praying for the LP governor to fail but to succeed in order to make the citizenry heave sigh of relief.

He however assured that Abia APGA would provide the needed constructive criticisms that would constantly put the ruling party in check.

Onukwubiri stated emphatically that it is only APGA that would provide strongest opposition to Labour Party in the state and not APC in Abia.

Abia APGA Chairman also said that contrary to insinuations insinuations in some quarters, that he, Elder Ambassador Sunday Onukwubiri remains the authentic Chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance,Apga in Abia state.

He pointed out that anyone that is parading himself as APGA state Chairman is only playing to the gallery because he emerged through a due democratic process supervised by the National Working Committee of APGA.

Onukwubiri called on members of the public to disregard anybody who is laying spurious claims as the Chairman of the party because there is no faction in Abia APGA.

He, therefore, called on the members and teeming supporters to remain resolute and calm, reassuring them of the state leadership’s resolve to move the party forward.
