Abduction: Okowa’s wife’s sister released after N150m ransom

The kidnapped younger sister to the wife of Delta state Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has regained freedom.

Elizabeth, younger sister to Dame Edith Okowa, was reportedly abducted by gunmen along Awai road near the Government House, Asaba last week.

It was gathered that the victim was released Thursday morning after paying  N150 million ransom.

Reliable source from government house confirmed her release but denied knowledge of the ransom paid in respect of her freedom.

When contacted, the Commissioner of Police, Delta state command, Mr. Adeyinka Adeleke, claimed ignorance and denied any knowledge of the released.

CP Adeleke said: “I’m just hearing it from you; I don’t have that information that she was abducted let alone have information that she has been released. I no hear go, so it’s not possible for me to hear come.”
