Abducted girls: Nigerians urged to rally round Jonathan

Senior Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on Youth and Students Matters, Comrade Jude Imagwe, has called on Nigerians to rally round the and support his efforts at rescuing the over 200 Chibok girls adopted by the Boko Haram insurgents in Borno state.
Imagwe made the call while delivering a keynote address at a public lecture with the theme: “Understanding the transformation agenda of Mr President and why He should be re-elected come 2015,” organised by the movement at Kini Country Home, Akwanga, Nasarawa state.

He said the President had the desire to do more and urged Nigerians to give him the enabling environment to do it.
He said: “I want to talk to you about the future of this nation and about the challenges before us as youth. Our sister were recently kidnapped on Borno and as citizens of this country, we have the duty to rise up to protect our country. The future of this country lies on the shoulder of young people. No individual can win the fight against terrorism, but terrorists cannot succeed when the people are united to fight it. Let Nigerians stand up to protect the president and defend the country; Let’s say enough is enough to wanton killings of our people and to kidnapping of our sisters.”

Deputy Governor of Nasarawa state, Hon. Dameshi Luka Barau, in his remarks, condemned the abduction of the girls and called on Nigerians to remain steadfast and prayerful for the peace of the country.
Also, youths from the North-central zone under the auspices of Consolidation Movement have endorsed the president for the 2015 election, saying that it decision was based on his development strives.
