The 1983 set of Anty Ayo Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School, (AAGCSS), weekend marked its forty years’ anniversary in grand style at Ikoyi, Lagos state.
The unique ceremony provided members of the association the opportunity to come together as old girls to celebrate their reunion after 40 years of leaving secondary school.
Part of the highlights of the programme was a seminar organised by members, titled: “mental health sustenance amidst multiple challenges’, held at St. Agnes Catholic Church premises, Maryland, Lagos.
Speaking to journalist during the event, the national president of 1983 set of the institution, Mrs. Olufunke Grace Nwakwo, said the purpose of the reunion is to celebrate their lives after 40 years of leaving the school and also to assist struggling members in any areas they might need help.
“We are here today to celebrate 40 years after leaving school. It is a day of joy and happiness for all us.”
“You can imagine the people that I have not seen in the 40 years we left school and all of us still meet here today. It is worthy of celebration,” she said.
