A nineteen year-old suspected transformer vandal, Nwode Sunday, was electrocuted in Enugu on Friday.
Nwode who lived at Ngwo Camp 2, Coal Camp, Enugu, was electrocuted while attempting to vandalize electrical cables in an Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) transformer at the same location in the early hours of the day.
According to the police spokesman, Daniel Ndukwe, the lifeless body of the suspect was taken to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead, and the corpse deposited in the mortuary for preservation.
Ndukwe pointed out that the Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, has warned criminals involved in such criminal acts to turn over a new leaf to avoid facing the full weight of the law, or suffering similar unfortunate fate as the late suspect.
