8000 athletes, volunteers register for Anti-Corruption Marathon race

Over 8000 athletes and volunteers have registered to participate in the forthcoming National Anti-Corruption Marathon Race billed for December 10 in Abuja.

Disclosing this to the media, CEO/Chairman Fairplay Sports International organizers of the event, Jacob Onu, said the second edition of the race which will hold on the International Day of Anti-corruption has been receiving entries from athletes from different parts of the country.

He disclosed further that the entries have been coming from both established athletes and upcoming ones who have shown enthusiasm in fighting corruption through sports.

Onu maintained that this year’s race will definitely project the country in good light globally adding that Nigeria is the only country worldwide using sports to fight corruption.

The 2019 Anti-corruption Marathon Race which is second edition has been widely received and welcome by both public and private sectors.

On the D-day, the programme will also be graced by prominent Nigerians from the academia, business sector, civil service, etc as one of the foremost private universities; Nile University of Nigeria will host a seminar on fight against corruption.

All anti-graft agencies, ministeries and Departments have since identified with the Anti-corruption Marathon Race and have pledged to fight corruption using this programme till it is eliminated from the country.

Registration is open to all Nigerians of all ages to participate either as athlete or volunteer.  

The 2nd National Anti-Corruption Marathon Race holds in Abuja on December 10.
