Seven people died yesterday along Damaturu -Potiskum road at about 10. 15am in an accident involving two vehicles.
In one of the vehicles, a private Honda perfection car carrying four people, the son of the owner of the vehicle, one Hajiya Saratu Ibrahim, the PRO of the Kashim Shettima Movement (KSM) died instantly, while two other women who were accompanying him to the APC national convention in Abuja, survived but sustained serious injuries.
Confirming the incident, the KSM Secretary, Alhaji Zanna, said it was true that his colleague was involved in an incident on her way to the convention.
Efforts made to get the Yobe state Police Command PPRO to speak on the incident failed, but family of the late Hajiya Saratu Ibrahim and members of her political organisation, the KSM, now in Abuja, confirmed the incident.
Sector Commander, Yobe state FRSC, Yusuf Garba, confirmed to journalists on phone in Maiduguri, when contacted, that there was a fatal accident involving a Golf commercial car and Honda perfection at about 10.15 am yesterday where five people sustained injuries, and seven people died.
