A total of six hundred Athletes and officials from the Federal Ministry of Education and its Agencies would be storming the ancient city of Lafia for the maiden edition of the Federal Ministry Education and its Agencies Games tagged, FEDUGAM.
According to the organizers all the Athletes and Officials are expected to arrive Lafia latest on Sunday, 3rd of December for the Game which is billed to commence on the 4th.
Consultant to the Game, Mathew Okeyinka told our reporter that a lot has been put in place in ensuring that the game which has the blessing and the endorsement of the Minister of Education, Ahmed Ahmed get underway as planned. He noted that the Ministry of Education sports club and that of the agencies have been training hard ahead of their participation in the game.
“I am very happy with the response of the Agencies and even with the parent Ministry, the Ministry of Education. They have responded well to the call from the Hon. Minister for us to have a sports fiesta for our staff. They have trained for weeks for the game and we expect to have a very competitive game,” he said.
The veteran sports administrator however laments the non participation of few of the other agencies saying they had expected to have more than the current number of athletes participates in the maiden edition.
“We had expected more than the current number of athletes that have entered for the game, but some of the agencies did not register. It is always the case with starting something for the very first time. Hopefully, the second edition would have far more participating athletes’ than what we have this year,”
The former FEPSGA secretary general however calls on Nigeria sports lovers in Lafia and its environ to come out in their large numbers to support and cheer the Athletes, while assuring them of a well entertaining Game.
