Delta state command has smashed six suspected killers in connection with the gruesome murder of the chairman of the Udu central vigilance group, Mr. Prosper Erhinyojare.
The arrested suspects are One Eric Umukoro (30), Joshua Ogheneovo, a.k.a Abala, Caleb Oghenetega, a.k.a K-leg, Akpojotor Christian Obele, Solomon Olo and Oke Onorede, a lady whose husband was native doctor to the robbers.

The squad on April 17, last month, gruesomely murdered the head of Udu Vigilante Group and Godwin Masajuah Migaga, alias Kpuff-man, the chairman of the Red Bar Security Vigilance Group, on April 22, also last month.

They trailed the Red Bar Chief to Otokut in suburban Warri where they shot him at close range.
Briefing journalists at the Command Headquarters in Asaba, the state capital, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Celestina  Kalu, said the suspected hoodlums took part in the “conspiracy, acts and omissions that led to the death of the two vigilance chiefs.” PPRO said the other members of the gang still at large were David, Rege, Festus and Ojekom.

She listed the items recovered from them to include, two AK47 rifles, 90 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition and two locally made cut-to-size single barreled short-guns.

She hinted that most of the suspects had made confessional statements, highlighting their degree of involvement and the role they played.  The PPRO said “they will be charged to court as soon as investigations are completed.”  Kalu said investigation had revealed that the hoodlums kill brutally to instill fears on members of the public by snuffing lives out of vigilante heads that had done so much to aid security agencies in their duties of law enforcement.
