No fewer than six people were feared dead in Ibadan, the oyo state capital, yesterday during a flooding arising from a heavy downpour.
It was gathered that the said six persons reportedly met their untimely death at Dandaru area of the town.
Trouble started when the downpour which started around 1.30pm suddenly turned heavy and swept away the victims said to be sleeping in a canal at Dandaru area of Queen Elizabeth Road, Ibadan.
Eyewitness account said as at the time of sending this report, only the corpse of one of the six victims, identified as Ayuba, has been found while the five others were yet to be found.
Blueprint gathered that Ayuba’s body was found hanging on an object with his legs and hands dangling under the bridge.
Men of the Oyo state Fire brigade services and other good Samaritans were sighted pulling out the lifeless body of Ayuba with a thick rope tied round his armpits at 5.20 p.m.
