57 graduands bag first class degree in FUT Minna

The Federal University of Technology, Minna, (FUTMinna) will  Saturday at its 29th convocation, graduate 3.597 students out of which 57 graduands made first class degree.

 Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Abdullahi Bala stated this at the weekend in a pre-convocation press briefing at the Gidan Kwano comapus of the university in Minna.

He said the university will also graduate 94 PhD students, 629 others for master’s degree and 182 post graduate diplomas.

He stated further that 926 graduated with second class upper, 1733 with second class lower, 836 third class and 45 pass degrees.

Professor Bala said that under the affiliate programme of the university, Federal College of Education (Technical) Akoka is graduating 11, Federal College of Education (Potiskum) 105 while Kaduna Polytechnic has 23 graduands.

He said, “I am happy to report that the university was able to successfully complete the 2018/2019 academic session as a result and consistent with our tradition, our graduands at this year’s convocation will be collecting their graduation certificates on the day of the convocation”.

He said  the management of the university during the academic session also gave priority attention to the welfare of staff, adding that a total of 351 staff were promoted to various ranks including 22 professors, 10 associate professors, 78 other academic staff and 241 non-teaching staff.
