5 months after, 12 FUG female students still in bandits’ den

Twelve female students of the federal university Gusau in Zamfara state who were kidnapped on the 20 September 2023 by armed bandits have now spent five months in captivity.

The bandits on the fateful day invaded the hostels of the affected female students at Sabon Gida village outside the main campus of the university and kidnapped over 30 students.
Five were eventually released after negotiations.
However, the affected female students were yet to know their fate as no one knows their where about.
Some of the parents, who spoke to our correspondent lamented that both the management of the university, security agencies have not briefed them about whereabouts of their children.

When contacted by Blueprint correspondent on the matter, the state police command public relations officer Asp. Yazid Abubakar declined comment, saying the issue is with military.

Meanwhile, blu correspondent contacted the spokes person of Nigerian Army Operation Hadarin Daji in Zamfara state, Capt. Ibrahim who also declined comment.

“The police is supposed to provide an update on any issue not the military,” he said
