48th Convocation: Remi Tinubu, Toriola, others bag OAU honorary award 

Management of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun state, Thursday, disclosed plan to confer honorary award on the first lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu and forth others.

Others to receive the honorary Doctor of Philosophy are, CEO of MTN Nigeria Communications Plc, Prince Karl Toriola, Group Chairman of Mutual Benefit Plc, Dr Akinade Ogunbiyi, Prof Anthony Adegbulugbe, and Daere Afonya-Akobo.

The Vice Chancellor of OAU, Professor Adebayo Bamire, who stated this at a press conference heralding the convocation ceremony, disclosed that 215 students will be graduating with a first class degrees at the 48th convocation of the university.

According to him, the degrees that cut across the 13 faculties will see 2,197 graduating with second class upper division, 2,691 with second class lower division; 755 with third class honours; 61 upper credit; 33 lower credit and 62 pass.

He said 13 will bag distinction in unclassified degrees; 59 pass with distinction; 154 pass with credit during the convocation ceremony that will hold between Thursday 12th and Saturday 14th December.

On postgraduate degrees, Prof Bamire said 74 will bag Postgraduate Diplomas; 708 with Master’s Degrees and 176 with Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
