Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has revealed that he has not anointed anybody as the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 governorship election in the state.
Sule explained that the choice of who becomes the next governor of the state 2027, would be determined by the people through democratic process.
Sule disclosed this at a press briefing in Lafia on Wednesday, through his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Public Affairs Comrade Peter Ahemba.
The governor expressed dismay in view of the claims by some individuals who have been parading themselves as government candidates.
He said his attention has been drawn to the activities of some aspirants who go about and inform the public that they are anointed by him.
He debunk the claim in its entirety.
Governor Sule emphasised that he still have more than two years to be able to bring about dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
“I wish to categorically, deny the claims circulating in some quarters that the government has anointed a successor.
“Government has not made any pronouncement or taken any action indicating his preference for a particular individual as successor,” he said.
He however, urged the public to disregard the claims which he said are clearly designed to cause confusion.
Governor Sule however, maintained that he remained focused on delivering on his mandate to the best of his ability.
