2027: Group endorses  Tinubu for second term

A political advocacy group, United Advocates for Good Governance and Leadership, has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 presidential election, citing his leadership and commitment to national development.

The endorsement was announced in a statement signed by the group’s National Secretary, Oyeintonbra Theophilus Friday, on behalf of its National Coordinator, Israel T. Ebiama.

“We are supporting President Tinubu without prejudice, recognising his commitment to redefining the priority areas of his administration, including reforming the economy to deliver sustained inclusive growth, strengthening national security for peace and prosperity, and boosting agriculture to achieve food security,” the statement read.

The group commended Tinubu’s 2025 budget proposal, saying it reflected a clear vision for national progress.

“President Tinubu’s leadership has laid the foundation for peace, prosperity, and hope. We believe his vision for a Nigeria where every citizen can dream, work, and thrive in safety is achievable under his continued leadership,” it added.

The advocates also emphasised the importance of Nigeria’s rotational presidency—a system designed to ensure power balance among the country’s regions—as part of their rationale for supporting Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Calling on citizens to back the president, the group urged Nigerians to unite in working towards what it described as “a brighter future” under Tinubu’s leadership.

The president, who took office in May 2023, has not yet officially declared his intention to run for re-election.

However, his supporters are increasingly rallying behind him amid ongoing economic and security challenges in the country.
