2026 World Cup qualifier: South Africa’s Bafana Bafana hold first training, set to hit Uyo 

Bafana Bafana of South Africa yesterday started preparation for the all important 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matchday three encounter against Super Eagles of Nigeria in South Africa.

The team according to their itinerary  is expected to arrive in Nigeria on Wednesday, with the team already booked into Four Points By Sheraton Hotel in Ikot-Ekpene.

According to information available on the team’s official X platform, all the invited 23 players took part in the session.

Head coach Hugo Broos reduced the squad to 23 players from an initial 36 last week Thursday.

“Bafana Bafana camp in full swing on day 1, with all players present,” reads a short message on Bafana Bafana’s X platform.

The team will travel to Nigeria via a chartered flight on Wednesday.

The former African champions will entertain the Warriors of Zimbabwe at the Free State Stadium, Blomfeintein four days later.
