2025: Maikalangu presents ₦25.6bn budget to AMAC lawmakers 

The executive chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has presented ₦25,651,311,142 only as 2025 proposed budget estimate to lawmakers.

Maikalangu made the budget presentation  Tuesday, December 31, saying the budget, titled “Budget for Sustainable Development,” took into consideration the needs of the people of AMAC and with the aim to complete ongoing projects in the council.

The budget represents a nominal increase of 10% above the previous year’s estimates, with a breakdown of the budget estimate showing: assumption: Net statutory allocation- N15,288,811,142, 10%, FCT IGR – N10, 500,000,000, AMAC IGR and DOAS- N5,562,500,000, Term Loan- N4,500,000,000.00.   

Further analysis of the budget shows that, while N11,857,527,025.00 was allocated for recurrent expenditure, representing 46.23%, N13,793,784,117.00 was allocated for capital expenditure, representing 53.77%.

“The construction of roads with street lights, drilling and reticulation of solar powered boreholes, installation of transformers, construction and renovation of primary school and primary health centers, provision of agricultural inputs, empowerment of women and youth and lots more are part of the things we are doing to satisfy the yearning of our electorates,” he said.
