The Jigawa state government is set to close its 2024 budget with a substantial N100 billion reserve, providing a solid foundation for the 2025 Appropriation Bill as recently presented by Governor, Malam Umar Namadi.
Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Honourable Babangida Umar Gantsa, announced this, while addressing journalists weekend in Dutse.
He said the Jigawa state governor last week presented the 2025 budget estimate of N698.3 billion, meant to drive economic growth and developments.
He said the 2025 budget, tagged: “The Budget of Innovation & Transformation for Greater Jigawa,” is divided into major revenue sources and expenditure components.
“Revenue streams include Statutory Allocation N34 billion, Value Added Tax N80 billion, Federal Transfers N134.1 billion, Internally Generated Revenues N130.7 billion, 2025 Opening Balance N100 billion, and Capital Receipts N219.5 billion,” he added.
He added that the major expenditure components in the budget include, personnel cost N66.2 billion for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), and N24.5 billion for Local Education Authorities.
