Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Wednesday rejoiced with Nigerians and the people of Adamawa state on the occasion of the New Year celebrations.
He urged citizens to believe in Nigeria and the Nigerian project rather than losing hope in the country despite challenges confronting the country.
He expressed optimism that things will change for better in the New Year.
The governor stated this in his new year message to the people of the state, via a press statement made available to journalists in Yola and signed by the governor’s chief press secretary, Mr Humwashi Wonosikou.
The governor reiterated his commitment to make life better for the citizens of the state and assured that more jobs are also on the way for the people of the state.
“As we look ahead to the New Year, our government will continue to build an economy that works for all. We will keep attracting historic investments in the state, re- invent the unity of purpose which existed in the state, and more jobs are on the way as the government’ s programme to irrigate acres of land becomes a reality in 2025.”
He acknowledge the hardships faced by Nigerians, adding that his administration had launched a number of projects that form the plank of his 11 and now 8 point agenda which provided thousands of jobs, including growth.
He said most of Nigeria challenges are man- made that require conscious efforts by citizens to resolve, hence the need for Nigerians to shun religious and ethnic intolerance which is the root-cause of the nation’s woes by being their brother’s keepers.
