The National Publicity Secretary of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Archbishop Emmah Isong, has warned that more tensions could happen in River state, with accusations and counter accusations among former governors designed to take the heat off Governor Simi Fubara.
Governor Fubara had been in a heated political battle with the immediate past governor of the state, Nyesom Wike, who is now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and who is believed to be his former political godfather.
Both former governors – Wike and Peter Odili had been on each other’s jocular in the media space for the past few weeks, a situation Archbishop Isong said was giving the embattled governor a breathing space.
Speaking in Calabar while releasing 2025 prophecies, the PFN spokesman, who is also the founder of the Calabar-based Christian Central Chapel, said the disagreement was a good tonic for Governor Fubara’s political survival.
“There will be more political tensions in Rivers state, but this time around, it will be former governors fighting former governors. For Fubara, battle will be taken from his head. It will become the battle of the titans. This means that the Rivers state battle is not yet over, but God shall give victory,” he stated.
Archbishop Isong also charged Nigerians, especially those in Southeast, to intensify prayers for Onitsha market against a disaster spiritually designed against the economy of the common man.
His words: “Pray and cover the Onitsha market against those disasters. There is a demon in Onitsha market that destroys. The Bible says, the devil comes to steal, to kill and to destroy. It is a year the enemy is targeting the market and the economy of the common man. We rebuke him in Jesus’ name.”
He however prayed that “Nigeria will receive more blessings than curses and that in the year 2025,” and prophesied breakthrough on medications for hitherto difficult incurable diseases.
“God will give wisdom to pharmaceutical companies. They will invent unbelievable awesome medical cures that will cause death rates and victims to be wiped away.”
