Ahead of Thursday’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic in Abidjan, Nasarawa United defender Victor Collins and New England Revolution midfielder Alhassan Yusuf are the early birds in camp as interim manager Augustine Eguavoen awaits the arrival of other players.
Collins, the only domestic player invited for the final round of qualifiers, is making his debut appearance in the Super Eagles squad.
Others in camp are Amas Obasogie, Raphael Onyedika, Frank Onyeka, Moses Simon, Bruno Onyemaechi, Samuel Chukwueze, Gabriel Osho and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.
Coach Eguavoen and his backroom staff arrived in Abidjan on Sunday.with training sessions set to begin on Tuesday.
Nigeria currently lead Group D with 10 points from four games, four points ahead of second-placed Benin Republic. A draw against Benin in Abidjan would secure Nigeria’s place in the 2025 AFCON, set to hold in Morocco.
Following the Benin match, the team will travel to Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, to prepare for their final qualifier against Rwanda on Monday, November 18, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
