2025 AFCON qualifier: 21 Super Eagles hold first training in Abidjan 

The Super Eagles Tuesday evening had their first training session ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against the Cheetahs of Benin Republic on Thursday in Abidjan.

The session which started at 8pm (Nigerian time).

Captain William Troost-Ekong, Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi and Ola Aina are among the latest arrivals in camp.

The other new arrivals are; Bright Osayi-Samuel, Alhassan Yusuf and Victor Collins.

Others players in camp as at time of filing this report are the trio of Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Calvin Bassey, Alhassan Yusuf and Maduka Okoye .

The latest arrivals was confirmed by the Super Eagles media officer Promise Efoghe.

They join Amas Obasogie, Raphael Onyedika, Frank Onyeka, Moses Simon, Bruno Onyemaechi, Samuel Chukwueze, Gabriel Osho and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru who are already in camp.

Tomorrow’s final workout will therefore be mainly tactical ahead of Thursday’s all-important clash against home team Benin.

Thursday’s kick-off is 5pm inside the Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.

Then on November 18, they will host Rwanda inside the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

After four games, the Super Eagles are top on the log on 10 points and in second place is Benin Republic on six points.

In third place is Rwanda on five points while Libya are bottom with just one point.
