2024 Olympics qualifier: Plumptre to miss Banyana clash, Waldrum drafts replacement 

Super Falcons defender, Ashleigh Plumptre has been ruled out of the team crucial Paris 2024 Olympic qualifiers against South Africa due to injury.

Plumptre’s absence was confirmed on the team X handle on Monday.

Coach Randy Waldrum had already called up Jumoke Alani as replacement for the injured Plumptre.

Alani is already in camp with the other players perfecting strategy against Banyana Banyana.

Aside Alani, Rasheedat Ajibade and goalkeeper Tochukwu Oluehi have also arrived.

The first leg of the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifiers comes up on Friday, 5 April.

While the second leg is billed for Tuesday, 9 April.

Meanwhile, Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala will be the last call-up to be in Abuja ahead of Friday’s 2024 Paris Olympics showdown against South Africa.

The Bay FC star Oshoala is given permission to arrive in camp on Thursday, just a day before the Olympic playoff.

The Falcons are hoping to secure a first Olympic appearance since the 2008 Beijing games.
